For more than 75 years, OUTRIGGER Resorts & Hotels has welcomed travelers to some of the world’s most iconic beach destinations, from Hawaii to the Maldives. OUTRIGGER sought Hospitality Solutions to elevate their digital booking journey and unlock new revenue potential across their portfolio.  

With a growing demand for tailored and authentic experiences, the brand partnered with Hospitality Solutions to implement SynXis® Retailing, a solution that empowered them to personalize offers, streamline retailing, and drive significant revenue growth across their global resorts.


The objective

OUTRIGGER’s objective was clear: enhance the guest experience while driving incremental revenue through personalized, beyond-the-room offerings. As a brand known for delivering memorable stays in premier beachfront locations, they sought a solution that could support their merchandising ambitions and provide guests with greater flexibility and choice.  

Their goal was to move beyond traditional dynamic packaging by offering curated services and experiences – such as all-inclusive food and beverage bundles and cultural events through a seamless, user-friendly retailing interface. By doing so, OUTRIGGER aimed to increase guest satisfaction, strengthen brand loyalty, and boost overall revenue performance. 


The solution

After early success piloting SynXis Retailing at two properties, OUTRIGGER expanded adoption across a selection of their resorts. As the first major customer to transition from SynXis Booking Engine’s standard dynamic packaging to the advanced capabilities of SynXis Retailing, OUTRIGGER now leverages a richer set of tools to personalize the guest journey and drive revenue beyond the room.

  • Expanded Offer Merchandising: The ability to sell services, experiences, and goods at scale, including all-inclusive F&B, spa bundles, and cultural experiences like the Feast & Fire Luau
  • Increased Average Order Value (AOV): SynXis Retailing integrates with their existing SynXis booking engine, enabling guests to easily customize their stays with relevant add-ons and upgrades at every touchpoint
  • Performance Visibility: Real-time insights help the digital team optimize offerings, pricing, and promotions across properties and categories

Results

Since implementing SynXis Retailing across their resort chain, OUTRIGGER has seen measurable improvements in both guest engagement and commercial performance.

In the first half of 2025 (January to June), total ancillary revenue saw a 37.1% increase YoY while units sold grew by 26.2% with average order value (AOV) of $335. Yet in Q2 2025 alone, the results were even more impressive: total ancillary revenue jumped by 72.0% YoY, units sold rose by 32.1%, and AOV increased 2.3% to $348.  

Throughout both periods, services remained the top-performing category, accounting for over 80% of total booking volume. Standout offers driving this success included All-Inclusive Food & Beverage packages, daily meal plans, and immersive experiences like the Feast & Fire Luau. These results highlight the impact of using tailored promotions and relevant product bundles to elevate the guest experience and increase total revenue per booking.
